Steve McQueen will forever be cooler than YOU!

Today would have been the 80th birthday of one of the coolest mother-f'ers to ever grace this planet. The original anti-hero, legendary actor, racer and stuntman Steve McQueen.
Star of such legendary films like Bullit, The Getaway, The Great Escape, LeMans, The Towering Inferno and The (Original) Thomas Crown Affair. His effortless, debonair style lives on and is still relevant to this day. Steve McQueen we salute you!

And the Oscar goes to…

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards took place last night, and the Award for Best Short Film (Animated) went to Logorama.

A satirical take on the variety of corporate identities that we encounter everyday. It's action packed, well acted and absolutely hilarious! A well deserved win and huge congratulations to the directors François Alaux, Herve de Crecy and Ludovic Houplain.

Akihabara Majokko Princess

update: looks like the suits have gone ahead and removed this video from the internet :( I'm sure if you search hard enough it will pop up somewhere.

Part of the Tate Modern Museum's Pop-Life exhibition and produced by renowned Japanese Pop-Artist Takashi Murakami, “Akihabara Majokko Princess” is a short film/music video directed by the often panned McG starring Kirsten Dunst dancing through the streets of Akihabara, running amok singing a cover of The Vapors - Turning Japanese.

Given Murukami's previous endeavors in film and the parties involved this collaboration is pretty head-scratching and poses the question whether this is high-art or high-camp. But isn't the purpose of art to force us to question ourselves anyways? Watch the video and judge for yourself.

What I SAW Today

Through his sketches, Fashion Illustrator Richard Haines documents the vital and always changing style of guys in New York. Haines keeps a visual record of his people watching excursions on his blog What I Saw Today. Featuring a balanced variety of scenesters and Average Joes, the loose, gestural style of Haines' drawings provides an interesting perspective on the NYC streetwear scene and is a welcome change to the conventional lookbook formula.

Honda 3R-C

Honda's marketing tagline says “The Power of Dreams” and it seems like the European designers working at Honda's Research and Design facility in Milan are dreaming big. Debuting this week at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the 3R-C Concept is a revolutionary three wheeled battery electric vehicle exploring what a future minimal urban transport vehicle for one person might look like. Powered by a battery electric drivetrain,The 3r-C also features a canopy which transforms from a cover into an enveloping windshield which provides the pilot with significant protection.
If this is what the future has in store for us,
I can't wait to go to there!
